About DampSmart
DampSmart is a new technology and consulting service. It is a collaboration between Aware Technologies (awaretag®), Home Connections and Tenancy Deposit Scheme to measure, analyse and advise on healthy, efficient homes. Between us, we have over 50 years experience in the social and private rented housing sector.
We see 1000s of landlords struggling to make their homes affordably warm and free from damp and mould. It creates expensive disputes, impacts health and wellbeing, and makes it harder to create the housing we all want.
We came together in 2023 to change things. We have combined our passion for better social outcomes, with precise technology and pragmatic advice. We know housing can be difficult. We think we can make it easier.

At DampSmart we pride ourselves on precise measurements and predictions of building performance. We turn expert level data into advice anyone can understand so everyone can create better homes.
Insulation and Heating Efficiency
We measure the insulation quality of walls and floors and calculate the heat losses for the whole home. We can tell how hard it will be to heat a home, the cost benefit of improving insulation, and the financial assistance needed to keep the heating on.
Fan
performance
We measure how well fans manage moisture and calculate when and where they need to improve. We have worked with some of the leading manufacturers to validate our data and advice for installers and residents.
Condensation Damp and Mould
We measure and combine inside and outside conditions and the fabric of the home, to pinpoint the time and place for mould to grow. Sometimes the fix is simple change of habits, others require a structural change.
Scalable, Secure and Reusable
Our technology can be used in any size of building in all rooms. Simply put our super small, battery powered sensors down on a surface and plug in the hub. Leave for 2 to 4 weeks. Get a report. When you are ready put them in the next home.
